Controversial, or as some claim, notorious German filmmaker Uwe Boll (47, Postal, BloodRayne) has announced his next projects today. During the press conference Boll revealed to have obtained the film rights to the vastly successful Elder Scroll Video Game franchise. How and when projects will begin to take shape has yet to be determined.

The most imminent project Boll is working on is under development with German distributor and production company KSM. The project, working title "The Dark Eye", is based on the best-selling German tabletop game of the same name. Boll's company (modestly called Boll KG) is going to develop the material with international funding from Germany, the US, and Spain.

The independent director, as always displaying a talent for convincing good actors to slum in bad films, claims to have convinced Jake Gyllenhaal (32, Donnie Darko, The Prince of Persia) to star in this upcoming project. One of KSM's producers, Marc Waholz, confirmed that Pre-production had already begun, shooting will commence in fall of 2012 on location in Spain and Greece. Studio locations will be set up in Babelsberg, Germany.
